Globalization

GLOBALIZATION

It is a term which describes the growing network of communication between individuals, groups, companies and countries.

The network is creating a shrinking world where local differences and national boundaries are being integrated and the planet is becoming a global village.

English is the language of globalization. It is used in international politics, business and diplomacy. 1.425 billion people communicate in English as their mother tongue or foreign language. English is widely spoken in so many places that many different version have evolved, some so peculiar that even native speakers may have trouble un-derstanding them.

Communication is now easier than it has ever been before thanks to the Internet, satellite television and mobile phones. The internet has created a network of information and links people in every part of the world.

Food is now traded and market on global basis.

The variety and availability of food is no longer restricted by the diversity of locally grown food or the limitations of local growing season. Ethnic food and restaurants have spread across the world: recipes are often adapted to reflect the availability of ingredients and desires of people.

Unity Is Strenght

A father had sons who were always quarrelling.
They would not listen when he told them about the danger of disagreement. This father decided to give his sons a pratical lesson. He took a bundle of sticks and asked each son in turn to break the bundle. None of his sons were able to do this. Then the father opened the bundle and gave his sons separate sticks. Of course the sons could break these sticks easily. The father said "Our family is like this bundlr of sticks". While we are together, nothing can break us.When we are divided, our enimies will break us as easly as these sticks.

Tongue Twister

Betty Botter bought some butter but, said she, the butter's bitter. If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter. But a bit of better butter will make my bitter batter better. So she bought some better butter, better than the bitter butter, put it in her bitter batter, made her bitter batter better. So 't was better Betty Botter bought some better butter.

Translation

Describe a picture

This photograph was taken in a family home, in the dining room, and shows two adults and a little boy sitting at a dining table.
The main focus of the photograph is the man on the left hand side, who is working and the little boy on the right hand side, who is eating. In the background, on the far side of the table, there is a lady talking on the telephone. It seems like the two adults are the child’s parents. The room is clean and bright, with white walls, a window and a bookcase with lots of books in it against the far wall. There is a tall, cream lamp on the right, next to the bookcase.
The father, who is wearing a white shirt and black glasses, looks like he is working from home today; he appears to be very busy as he is looking down at his notepad and has a pen in his hand. He is not smiling so maybe he just wants to get on with his work.
I think the little boy looks about two years old and has light brown, wavy hair. He is sitting in a high chair and is wearing a white and blue stripy jumper, with a white and red bib around his neck. In front of him, there is a baby’s drinking cup, full of juice and a plate. It looks like he has finished the food on his plate and is pushing it away. He has turned away from the table so perhaps he is now bored and wants to go and play.
The mother, wearing a blue blouse, is talking to someone on the phone. She could also be working from home, and is having her lunch while she works as she has a plate in front of her. On the other hand, she could just be chatting to a friend.
